Leather Watch Straps
Handmade leather watch straps with the material left in view: smooth Horween leathers, Shell Cordovan, suede and vintage pieces. Each design has its own proportions and finish. Start with your exact lug width, then compare length, thickness and the character of the leather.
Find the leather that suits your watch
Read the material, not just the color
Horween Chromexcel is known for its pull-up character: bending can reveal lighter tones as oils and waxes move within the leather. Shell Cordovan has a different structure and polished surface. Essex and its waxed relative Dublin are distinct leathers again. A product described simply as leather should not be assumed to be Horween or Shell Cordovan.
Choose the visual weight
Thickness, taper, stitching and keeper details can change a watch’s proportions as much as color. Compare each product’s measurements with a strap that already fits you well. Suede gives a matte, textured look; Shell Cordovan is a useful place to look for a smoother finish.
Keep care material-specific
Leather changes with wear and can darken or mark. Avoid soaking, excessive sweat and perfume. Suede needs a different routine from smooth leather: use a clean, soft brush for loose dust, and do not apply ordinary leather cream to the nap. For vintage or exotic materials, confirm suitable care for the specific strap before treating it.
Ready-made or made for you
Ready-made pieces have fixed widths, lengths and thicknesses. Our primary two-piece widths are 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26mm. For 19, 21, 23 or 25mm, or a different length, start with custom watch straps. Use the Strap Finder for your exact reference; never substitute a neighboring width.
