If you want to wrap an item of beauty, elegance, some grit and finesse around your wrist, Panerai is just for you. With Italian design on the outside and Swiss engineering at it's core, the new Panerai 731 is just that! Just about every single watch that has ever come out of the house of Panerai has been an immense success among it's audiences and the Panerai 731 is no exception.
Panerai 731 belongs to the wildly popular Luminor series and was well-received by watch collectors who were lucky enough to get their hands on one. This release was a limited edition e-boutique only release, and Panerai decided to produce only 100 pieces in total. Let’s take a look at what this Italian beauty has to offer.
What Does Panerai 731 Offer?
The Panerai Luminor Submersible Automatic Acciaio PAM731 may look like another run-of-the-mill diving watch at a cursory glance, but it has layers to it.
The stainless steel case comes in a cushion-shaped style along with the patented crown guard device from Panerai. The overall diameter of the case is 44mm, which makes it perfect for various kinds of diving. This watch also comes with a top-of-the-line unidirectional bezel for monitoring decompression stops and total dive time. It is also water-resistant up to 300 meters, which can come in handy for deeper dives.
The watch comes with a screw-down case back for precision diving. While you may not be able to see the movement powering the watch, you will be able to enjoy the amazing diving experience without worrying about the watch due to the screw-down case back.
Unlike other diving watches from Panerai, the Panerai 731 comes with a gorgeous blue dial, which makes it easier for the divers to keep track of time even in darkness. Moreover, the dial has Arabic numeral and index hour markers.
Included, as well, is a date window around the 3 o'clock area. The hour and minute markers come coated in Super Lumi-Nova, which makes it quite easy for the diver to keep track of time in dark, murky waters. Other than a date window, the dial also has a seconds hand at 9 o’clock.
A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal covers the gorgeous dial. The sapphire crystal is polished to reflect light, and also show a clear view of the dial under any situation.
Panerai decided to go with a powerful in-house movement by the name of Panerai OP XXX caliber. This COSC certified movement has 25 jewels at beats at 28,800 vph, making it unparalleled in timekeeping, precision, and magnetic resistance. However, it only offers a power reserve of 50 hours, as opposed to other watches on the market, which offer a power reserve of up to 72 hours (3 days).
The watch comes with a black rubber strap for a classic sports look. The strap is durable enough to withstand immense pressure underwater and last a while.
