Answers before and after you order.
Start with fit, then work outward. The Strap Finder handles most lug-width questions; the guide below covers custom production, leather care, installation, shipping and common order questions.
Measure the watch, not the old strap.
The lug width is the inside distance between the watch lugs, measured in millimeters. An old strap can shrink or may already be the wrong size, so measure the watch itself whenever possible.
If you know the watch reference, the Da Luca Strap Finder can often identify the width for you. We do not round odd sizes: a 21mm watch should receive a 21mm strap.
General two-piece length guide
| Wrist (inches) | Length (mm) |
|---|---|
| 6.0–6.5 in | 110/70mm |
| 6.25–7.25 in | 115/75mm |
| 7.0–7.5 in | 120/75mm |
| 7.5–8.0 in | 125/80mm |
La longitud se muestra como pieza larga / pieza de la hebilla, sin incluir la hebilla. El tamaño del reloj, la posición de la hebilla y las preferencias personales pueden cambiar el ajuste ideal.
Made to your specifications.
How long does a custom strap take?
Standard production is approximately 3–4 weeks, plus shipping time. When Priority Production is offered, it is an additional $50 and ships within 7 business days.
Can you make odd lug widths?
Yes. Odd widths such as 19mm, 21mm, 23mm and 25mm are normal custom requests. Start a custom strap rather than sizing up or down.
Can you fit an OEM deployant or buckle?
Often, yes. We need the clasp or buckle specifications before production so thickness, taper and hole sizing can be planned correctly.
Can I send my own leather or material?
Potentially. We have repurposed customer-supplied materials in the past, but suitability depends on thickness, condition, structure and the amount of usable material. Contact us before sending anything.
Good leather changes. That is part of the point.
How should I care for a leather watch strap?
Keep it away from prolonged water, heavy perspiration, perfume and dirt. Wipe surface dust gently and allow damp leather to dry naturally. For compatible smooth leathers, a small amount of Venetian Cream can help condition the surface. Suede and exotic skins require different care and should not automatically receive leather cream.
What if my strap gets wet?
How do I install a strap with spring bars?
Use a proper spring-bar tool to compress the spring bar between the strap and lug. Fit the buckle side at 12 o’clock and the longer side at 6 o’clock unless your watch or preference calls for something different. After installation, gently tug both sides to confirm the spring bars are fully seated.

When do ready-made orders ship?
We generally aim to ship ready-made orders within 24–48 hours during the business week. Custom and made-to-order items require production first.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International transit time varies by destination and customs. See the Shipping & Returns page for current methods, rates and free-shipping thresholds.
Will I receive tracking?
Yes. Order confirmation is followed by shipment/tracking information and delivery notifications when supported by the carrier.
What can be returned?
Return eligibility depends on the product and destination. Made-to-order/custom items and international orders are not returnable under the current policy. Review the complete return policy before sending anything back.
